Alcohol and hypertension are related directly. The study and researches indicate people having alcohol on daily basis develop more risk of contracting hypertension than people not consuming alcohol regularly. Even having one or two drinks regularly is a matter of risk. Alcohol taken in moderation has chances of lowering the development of cardiovascular diseases. Alcohol is not harmful by itself but once it gets coupled with various other factors, it becomes highly serious. Obesity rates are constantly increasing in the American population and this when coupled with alcohol elevates the development risk of hypertension and also heart attacks. People carrying extra weight have to careful, especially with alcohol.
It is recommended always to size down the consumption of alcohol, in case you are consistently suffering owing to high blood pressure. However, you cannot wish for your blood pressure levels to get down to normal immediately. In some cases, it is been observed that former drinkers who have stopped alcohol consumptions for several months are yet battling with hypertension. But, they have all chances of better living provided they continue their struggle. People with a history of heavy drinking are certain to have higher chances of developing hypertension than non-drinkers. Generally, studies show that the drinks you consume everyday is related directly to your levels of blood pressure.
Men reporting about having only one drink a day also pose a great risk of developing hypertension. Some factors such as age, lifestyle and hereditary predisposition affects the routine or at the most slows down or results in increasing the development of high blood pressure. Moreover, it is also noted that people who drink alcohol have very less concern of being careful and the more the alcohol goes inside you, the urge of craving for food increases. Under this influence on state of mind that is a hangover state, the drinkers desire to have salty and fatty foods. This is a potential risk factor promoting this disease.
There is no doubt that alcohol and hypertension are perfectly related and the best news is that people can do lots of things to maintain their well-being. Cutting down alcohol is the priority and introducing certain lifestyle changes in everyday as a routine such as steady exercise for 30 minutes everyday keeps the blood levels in control. Similarly, increasing the number of vegetables as well as fruits supply your body with adequate nutrients and fiber. This also enhances all the chances of reducing the levels of blood pressure. It is up to you to bring things into control.

Pulmonary hypertension refers to the high blood pressure supplied to the lungs through the arteries. Blood vessels supplying blood to the lungs tighten and the walls get thickened. This restricts the flow of blood and the heart is forced to work harder. During high pressure, less blood circulates through the lungs resulting in the patients becoming very tired, short of breath and dizzy. However, congenital heart disease can result in Pulmonary Hypertension and it is essential to repair the problems of the heart prior to permanent pulmonary hypertension development. A hole between two ventricles also causes much blood flow and sometimes even the narrowing of the valve causes pulmonary hypertension. Fixation of the valve reverses the pulmonary hypertension.

On the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, it is a must to undergo medical therapy. Regular follow-up and check-up with a cardiologist is essential in caring for patients. As long as this disease prevails, it will cause pulmonary hypertension. However, curing it is possible as various treatments are available. The treatment is given with oxygen and heart pumping agents and severe medications to reduce pulmonary hypertension. Lung transplants are also done sometimes. A pulmonary hypertension patient can have a fulfilling life. Yet, considerable measures as well as precautions should be taken. This is an illness for the entire life and can worsen owing to certain factors such as going to high altitudes or smoking.

Pulmonary hypertension patients should be physically active as much as possible. Avoid doing isometric activities and exercises that generates dangerous symptoms like dizziness or chest pain. It is better to follow a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program to promote conditioning. Proper and adequate rest is also very essential. Using over the counter drugs or other medications should be done with care. Before taking any sedatives or anesthetics, consulting your physician regarding the safety of medication is essential.

Pregnancy should be avoided and oral contraceptives also should be totally avoided as it aggravates Pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension patients should take additional precautions such as taking supplemental oxygen and antibiotic therapy. Consulting your doctor and then following certain exercises is recommended. Eventually, if you are undergoing medical treatments for pulmonary hypertension, stopping any of these medicines without the approval of your physician can turn to be highly dangerous. Though, medical therapy has shown significant improvements, it does not eliminate pulmonary hypertension completely. As this fact is well-known it is best to follow the diet patterns and exercise routine with proper medications and regular checkups.

Renovascular hypertension is once again an elevation in blood pressure owing to partial or complete occlusion of renal arteries or even their branches. Generally, this is asymptomatic unless it is long-standing. You can hear a bruit over one or both renal arteries in nearly 50% of patients. This comes to knowledge by diagnosis and physical examination. The renal imaging with duplex ultrasonography, magnetic resonance angiography and radionuclide imaging describes the seriousness of renovascular hypertension. However, Angiography is done prior to definitive treatment with angioplasty or surgery. Renovascular disease is a common cause and can be cured. This is a curable hypertension. The occlusion of the renal arteries or any of these branches cause hypertension as they release rennin form the affected kidney’s juxta glomerular cells. The arterial lumen should be decreased before it causes hypertension. However, regardless of the reasons, renovascular hypertension is more in whites than among blacks.
Nearly 2/3 of such cases are mainly caused by atherosclerosis and about 1/3 are due to fibro muscular dysplasia. The atherosclerosis is common in men above fifty and mainly affects 1/3 of the renal artery. Fibromuscular dysplasia is found among younger patients, especially women and affects 2 /3 of the prime renal artery as well as the renal arteries branches. Some rare causes include trauma, emboli, inadvertent legation during the process of surgery and compression of renal pedicle due to tumors. Renovascular hypertension is featured by intense cardiac output as well as due to elevated peripheral resistance.
Initial identification using magnetic resonance angiography, ultrasonography or imaging is done to identify and to come into a conclusion for renovascular hypertension. This confirmation may also be therapeutic. If this is suspected, renal angiography proves it as the definitive test. The ultrasonography assesses the blood flow and is a noninvasive method for renal arteries. MRA is an accurate as well as noninvasive test for calculating the renal arteries. Even digital subtraction angiography done with specific injections particular for renal arteries also assures the diagnosis. The treatment deals with opening the renal artery with angioplasty and this relieves hypertension to a great extent. The elimination of affected kidney helps in the treatment of hypertension.
Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is suggested to be suitable for most patients. This includes the young patients as well. Some drugs are Bufferin, Genacote, Ecotrin and Plavix. Sometimes to rectify the renovascular hypertension the complete auto transplantation of kidney is suggested to cure.

Portal hypertension refers to augmentation in the blood pressure inside a system of veins referred to as the portal venous system. The veins arise from the intestine, stomach, pancreas and spleen normally and get fused into the portal vein. This then branch into numerous smaller vessels and travel through the liver. If the vessels get blocked in the liver, it is a deadly task for the blood to flow in the portal system. When the pressure is too high, the blood finds other ways of flowing back to heart so that it gets pumped to the lungs and the waste products are rid of as well as the oxygen is picked. Blood travels to the veins present in the esophagus, rectum, anus and in the abdomen skin.

The portal hypertension is not associated with specific symptoms identifying the happenings in the liver. But, people having liver disease lead to developing high portal hypertension called cirrhosis. Some of the symptoms as well as complications of portal hypertension are black or blood stools, blood vomiting owing to hemorrhage and rupture of veins. The symptoms also include forgetfulness and confusion, Ascites which is an accumulation of abdomen fluid, reduced levels of platelets that assist in forming blood clots. Portal hypertension is diagnosed by the presence of dilated veins or ascites. This comes to notice only after the physical examination of abdomen. These physical examinations include several lab tests, endoscope examinations and x-ray

Portal hypertension is not curable. The treatment focuses on managing complications or rather preventing further complications, particularly bleeding from veins. The treatment regarding preventing complications is diet, surgery, medications, radiology and endoscope therapy. Other treatments depend on the severity of symptoms and on the functioning of liver. The nutritional habits and maintaining them helps in sustaining a healthy lifestyle. This helps in improving the liver function. A person facing portal hypertension should try to be in the best of his moods always such that relaxation is to the best. Using street drugs or alcohol should be completely avoided. Avoiding taking over the counter drugs or drugs without prescription or without the consultation of a doctor or nurse should be strictly avoided. The dietary guidelines recommended by the doctor should be strictly followed such as eating foods with less sodium or salt in the regular diet. The quantity of consuming should be restricted to 2 grams per day. The protein intake also should be reduced and in case of confusion regarding die, contacting a dietitian can help in preparing an appropriate meal plan.

Hypothyroidism has serious mental as well as physical risks regardless of age. The studies reflect the adverse health effects even with hypothyroidism of the sub-clinical type. This is a condition that has no symptoms and indicates only during the blood tests. Fortunately, hypothyroidism is diagnosed easily and the treatments are restored to normal functioning of thyroid. The treatment is effective only if the patient is free from any sort of harmful consequences thereby living a normal life. Goiter and iodine deficiency are some of the significant problems seen in less developed nations leading to mental retardation also. Hypothyroidism when left untreated becomes life threatening with severe complications and is known as Myxedema coma. The symptoms of this include fall in body temperature, decreased lung function, constipation, seizures, slow heart rate, urine retention, fluid build up and eventually coma. It is not common, but develops in patients who are left untreated and are subjected to infections, stress, and surgery or also due to severe cold. Emergency treatment is recommended. The highest risk in older patients leads to heart problems as well.
Suppurative Thryoiditis is life threatening infection and is rare. This is immune to infection. It begins with upper respiratory infection and includes symptoms such as neck pain, rash and fever. Such patients experience in speaking as well as trouble in swallowing. Treatment should be immediate. Thyroid hormones affect the heart directly as well as indirectly. They are associated with the heart rate and output. The thyroid hormones keep the blood vessels smooth to allow flowing of blood smoothly. Hypothyroidism increases the cholesterol levels and also other fat molecules called lipids in association with heart disease.
Thyroid condition can be treated and this reduces the blood pressure levels. Hypothyroidism reduces the heart rate and the pumping capacity increases the blood vessel walls stiffness. All these leads to increase in blood pressure and these patients are more prone to developing hypertension. Patients with chronic hypothyroidism should have regular checkup of their blood pressure, in particularly pregnant women. Hypothyroidism affects the contraction of the heart muscle and elevates the risk of heart failure. Some of the effects are depression and this is severe in hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is chronic especially in older women. Untreated hypothyroidism causes behavioral and mental impairment. The conditions with hypothyroidism worsens are headaches and it is also observed that glaucoma can be increased. Women having fewer problems experience joint stiffness. Regardless of the problems, it is best treated immediately.

Intracranial hypertension is the common name give to disorders caused due to blood pressure that affects the cerebrospinal fluid pressure within the brain. This is an uncommon disease. It may be found affecting 1 in 100,000 people. The intracranial hypertension is found mainly affecting women. The onset of this disease can be approximately considered to be in the late 20s. This occurs suddenly and the cause goes unclear. Occasionally, it is associated to brain tumors. The common symptom for intracranial hypertension is severe headache. Such headaches do not get relieved with anything and leads to vision disturbance as well. Apart from this intracranial hypertension also causes loss of concentration or memory, dizziness, disorientation, pins and needles pricked feeling in the hands and vomiting.

The diagnosis of intracranial hypertension is done by scanning the brain and by measuring the pressure of CSF. Based on this CSF pressure, the treatment varies. The medical treatment includes drugs such as carbonic anhydrase inhibitors taken in high doses. This is done to suppress the CSF production. This may have side effects and if some medical therapy happens to fail and your vision is at risk, then two types of surgery can be undergone to rectify. The first type of surgery is done by opening a nerve sheath. This is done to lessen the swelling and the second type of surgery is the neurosurgical shunt. These tubes are embedded so that the CSF gets drained into another cavity like abdomen.

The intracranial hypertension occurs when the fluid is under severe pressure. The brain area is filled with fluid like water and if much fluid is present, the pressure increases owing to lack of space for expansion. The causes are yet not fully diagnosed but for some clues. Mostly, pregnant women experience such blood pressures and this worsens owing to weight gain. However, intracranial hypertension is caused owing to weight gain and any disorder blocking the spinal fluid flow in the route of the blood and the brain caused raised pressure. Such blood clots drain the brain causing elevated intracranial pressure. This leads to severe blood pressure levels. This can also be caused due to steroids withdrawal or owing to intake of considerable Vitamin A. even steroids for body building and other drugs like tetracycline also enhance the possibilities of increasing the blood pressure. Blood pressure can be controlled and intracranial hypertension can be accomplished by monitoring the blood pressure and following the medications so that the effects are minimized.

Comprehending pathophysiology of hypertension is crucial so that the necessary effective therapies are developed to decrease high blood pressure. The pathophysiology of hypertension is a convoluted and the main problem of seeing it as crucial is that it is not understood. There are some evidences of supporting the primary faults in the pathophysiology as a defect in regulating the pressure centers in the nervous system. The pathophysiology of hypertension has various factors and a perfectly designed regiment combination is considered to be the best in attacking as well as treating the problem. Targeted complementary blood pressure that focuses in reducing the pressure offers the effective approach in accomplishing blood pressure reducing goals.

Fluid restrictions augment the calcium phosphate precipitation risk in the tubules and can considerably contribute to kidney disease. Hence, fluid intake is encouraged and the sodium intake is restricted. However, smoking is also found to be a great risk factor for developing kidney failure. This is found in men who are diagnosed with kidney ailments. Calcium compounds used in binding phosphates are also used in hypertension treatment. This treatment is usually safe and effective. Moreover, it is relatively inexpensive ways of controlling problem. Stress has a significant role in hypertension as it influences the high blood pressure development after obesity. Blood pressure is increased owing to stress and only is normal when the stress is totally eliminated. Constant stress causes high blood pressure and will require medication.

High blood pressure may result in weight gain and also returns to normal only after the weight is reduced. This also may induce medication to control high blood pressure. Treatment consists of antihypertensive medications. Despite infinite availability of drugs in pharmacological categories, alpha-adrenergic antagonists, diuretics, calcium channel blockers, beta-adrenergic antagonists, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, the effective treatment for pathophysiology of hypertension remains unsatisfactory. Hypertension cannot be always avoided in many cases and so treatment should be prevented by having few things under perfect control such as weight, healthy eating, avoiding people using alcohol abuse and exercise are some of the prescriptions to avoid high blood pressure in young as well as middle aged people.

High blood pressure is the other term for hypertension and uncontrolled hypertensions are certain to bring serious ailments.
